I find this topic (the Happiness literature) very interesting. While not 100% work-related, I think there are interesting discussions here that parallel our work at HubShout related to Purpose. Several studies track happiness on a longitudinal basis. This study shows a major shift in happiness among a few key demographics:

I'm not 30 yet, but I know that I am much happier now than I ever was in college and right after college.

For the kids that I work with in martial arts that are having a hard time in high school or at whatever point they are at in their lives, I always tell them that anyone who said that the high school years/college years were the best of their lives had no idea what they were talking about.

Don't get me wrong, college was awesome. But to say it was the "best years of our lives"? That's a stretch for me.

Being in my late 20s is pretty awesome, and I'm not dreading 30 at all.
