Blogger: Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows multiple users to post time-stamped entries in a shared subdomain. Originally created developed and launched by Pyra Labs in 1999, Blogger was purchased by Google in 2003.

Blogger was one of the first blog-publishing tools, and accordingly helped popularize these services. While the first incarnation of Blogger utilized paid premium features to help support the business, under Google's ownership, Blogger became an entirely free blogging platform. Today, using Blogger, a user can have up to 100 accounts, which are all hosted at subdomains of www.blogspot.com. Unlike WordPress, a similar service, Blogger does not have the capacity to be installed in a web server and exists solely online.

Since purchasing the service, Google has made a number of significant changes to the service that drastically altered the system: for example, Blogger is now entirely on Google's servers, a move that reportedly improved quality but removed user's previous ability to publish on a separate domain via file transfer protocols (FTP). However, when it comes to online interactions between Blogger users, the service is extremely useful, and has even been made available in over 40 languages.
